Chrono Trigger Boss Strategies

  Yakra  Hp : 920

Use Crono's and Frog's Double Tech X Strike to attack him. Lucca should use either Flame Toss to attack or heal with Tonics. Beware of his NeedleSpin attack, which does about 50 damage to 1 member. Try to keep your hp up and you should win.
 

   Dragon Tank   Hp :  Head 600
      Grinder : 208
      Body : 266

Simply use physical attacks since Fire will heal it. Start by attacking the head, then the grinder and finally the body. Use Tonics or Mid Tonics to heal.
 

Guardian  Hp : 1200   Bits : 200 each

Destroy both bits before you attack the Guardian itself, or they'll counter with some nasty attacks. Once both bits are gone, have Crono use Cyclone while Marle and Lucca attack. You'll have a countdown of 5 to 0 to attack before the bits are revived. If they get revived, repeat the process until the Guardian breaks down. Use Crono's and Marle's Aura Whirl Double Tech to heal.
 

  R Series  Hp : 150  each

There are 6 of these robots. Use Crono's Cyclone to attack, but make sure you target three robots at once. It takes two Cyclones to destroy 3 of them. Watch out for the remaining 3, they'll use an attack similar to Beast Toss which damages both members. Either Marle or Lucca attack or heal with Tonics or Mid Tonics. Keep on using Cyclone on the last 3 until defeated. If there's one left, it will use a bomb attack which does alot of damage, keep your hp up and you'll win.
 

  Heckran  Hp : 2100

Only magic attacks will work here. Crono should use Lightning, while Marle and Lucca use their Double Tech Antipode. Heckran will use water attacks which do reasonnable damage. When he says " Go ahead, try to attack ! " , don't, instead use this oppertunity to heal. If you attack him now, he'll counter with Water 2.  When it says " Brief counterattack break " , it's safe to continue attacking him.
 
 

  Zombor   Top  Hp : 960
 Bottom  Hp : 800

Have Marle attack the top section with Ice while Crono and Lucca use Lightning and Fire respectively on the bottom section. If Robo is in your team, have him use Rocket Punch on the top section. When Zombor says "Doom,Doom,Doom, Doom...." , he will attack the party with a laser that does 100 + damage to everyone, so be sure to heal afterwards. Once the bottom section dies, finish the top with Ice and regular attacks. Before dying, it will use Mp Buster, which steals a member's mp. Simply rest at an Inn to restore your mp.
 

   Masa & Mune  Hp : 1000 each

Have Lucca use her Hypno Wave tech to put them asleep, once one or both are asleep, attack only one of them, let the other one snooze. You only need to defeat one of them to win. Since only one will be able to attack, don't bother healing for a measly 30 damage.  Save your techs and use regular attacks.
 

  Masamune  Hp : 3600

Crono and Lucca should use their Fire Sword Double Tech, while Marle uses Cure.  If you get the message " Storing Tornado energy ", have Crono use the Slash tech to neutralise it. If he uses his special attack, it does 100 + damage to everyone, so watch out.
 

  Nizbel  Hp : 4200

Have Crono use Lightning to lower his defence, then use Crono's and Ayla's Double Tech Drill Kick, after a few rounds, he'll zap you, so use Mid Tonics to heal and repeat the process until defeated. Marle should use Ice.
 

  Slash   Hp : 3200/5200

Crono and Frog should use their Double Tech X-Strike, while Marle uses Haste on everyone.  Have Marle do the healing while the others keep using X-Strike. You fight him twice in a row.  It's much easier with Haste, so make sure Marle has learned it.
 

  Flea   Hp : 4120

You can use the same strategy with Slash here. just make sure you have enough Heal to cure the various status ailments she causes.
 

  Ozzie  Hp : N/A

Just target one crank at a time, once you hit the fourth, Ozzie will fall.... dumb guy  :P .
 

   Magus  Hp : 6666

He may be your toughest opponent yet... Start off by having Frog attack with the Masamune to lower his magic defense. You need to hit him with the same element he uses. Example, if Magus uses Lightning 2, Crono should use Lightning, Lightning 2 to attack him, if you attack with another element, it will heal him, so pay attention to what he's using. If he uses a spell you don't have, simply attack him to make him switch magic barriers until you get something you can use. After you've done about 3000 damage to him, he will stop using barriers, and will prepare to cast DarkMatter, his strongest spell ( 250 + to everyone ). You have a few rounds to attack and heal up before he casts it. If you can manage to heal up in advance and attack until he casts DarkMatter, you'll beat him.
 

  Nizbel II   Hp : 7000

He's a breeze if you've learned Crono and Ayla's Double Tech Volt Bite, just keep using that while Frog uses Heal. Once he zaps you, heal using Ayla and Frog's Double Tech Slurp Kiss.
 
 

    Azala & Black Tyrano

Azala  Hp :  2700

Black Tyrano   Hp :  10 500

Start off by attacking Azala using Crono and Frog's Double Tech Spire while Ayla uses Cat Scratch or Rock Throw. Once Azala bites the dust, the tyrano will roar, which lower his defense. Heal up if needed.  Once you get the message " Removes defense and stores pwr " , let him have it with Volt Bite and Leap Slash. He will use a countdown from 5 to 0. Once it reaches 0, he will blast you with a nasty fire attack, heal immediately after using Slurp Kiss, and wait till you get the message again. Repeat the pattern until it dies.
 

  Golem   Hp :  7000

He will mimick your attacks, do your best, if you beat him, more exp for you. It dosen't matter wether you win or lose here, the result will be the same.
 

    Mud Imp, Blue Beast, Red Beast

Mud Imp   Hp : 1200
Blue Beast  Hp : 5000
Red Beast  Hp : 5000

Attack the beasts first, use Spire and Rock Throw, heal if you need to. Once both beast die, use Crono and Ayla's Double Tech Falcon Hit to quickly dispose of the Mud Imp.
 

   Giga Gaia  Head  Hp : 9500
Hands  Hp :  2000, 1000 after being revived

He can be tough, you need to kill the hands asap. Use Falcon Hit and Water 2 to do this.  If you can manage to survive until the hands dissapear, you've practically won the fight.  Use Falcon Hit on the head and other attacks. Once the hands reappear, give em a taste of Falcon Hit and Water 2, they should die after these two attacks. If they don't, you're in big trouble !  Be at level 30 + and you should not lose. Don't bother healing, cuz when you've killed the hands for the first time, Giga Gaia shouldn't be able to attack at all if you kill the hands as soon as they reappear.
 

  Dalton   Hp : 3500

Use Volt Bite for attacking and Cure2 for healing. Just make sure you have enough hp to survive his shadow attack once he's defeated.
 

   Twin Golem   Hp : 10 000 each

Crono should have learned Luminaire by now, so use it on them. Frog and Ayla should use Slurp Kiss at every round. Keep on using Luminaire and don't be afraid to use an elixir to refill Crono's mp. Use HyperEthers or FullEthers first, try to save your elixirs for Lavos.
 

Golem Boss  Hp : 18 000

Simply use your strongest attacks, no need to heal since his fear of heights disables him from attacking  :P. If you manage to beat him, you'll get some good exp. If he runs away, oh well.... ^^; forget it.
 

  Dalton Plus   Hp : 3500

Just use whatever you want, he'll try to summon Golem Boss and gets sucked in th void.
 

  Lavos Spawn    Hp :  4000

Use your best techs, but make sure they target only 1 section, it's the head you gotta take out, if you make the mistake of hitting the shell, it will use a needle attack that does 400 + damage to everyone. Heal if needed. You'll have to fight 3 of these on Death Peak.
 

  Retinite
Top section  Hp : 5000
Middle Section  Hp : 2000
Bottom Section : 4800

You need one magic user that knows either Ice or Water Magics, the other two should be strong fighters, Ayla and Crono are very good here, so have them in your team. The Magic user must use the Ice/Water spell to allow the other characters attack Retinite. Ayla's Triple Kick and Crono's Confuse work best here. use elixirs or lapis to heal. Beat it in the following order : Middle, bottom, top. Renember to cast Ice2/Water2 every round.
 

           Flea Plus, Great Ozzie, Super Slash

Hp : 4000 for Flea Plus, 4000 for Super Slash and 6000 for Great Ozzie

Start by attacking Flea Plus, use Techs that target only one enemy, or they will counter with a nasty triple tech of their own. Once Flea Plus is defeated, go after Super Slash, once he bites the dust, use any tech you wish on Great Ozzie. It's Flea and Slash that does the hurting, Ozzie hardly does anything.  Use items to heal.
 

   Son of Sun    Hp :  2100
 

First off, the Red Mail, Red Vest, Ruby Armor are needed to survive this fight. Start by attacking one flame, if you hear a tone, you've got the right flame, if not, try another one until you get the right one, note that the flame will counterattack if it's the wrong one. If you got the good flame, keep on attacking it until Son of Sun uses Roulette Shuffle. Each good hit will do 210 damage to Son of Sun. If it uses Roulette Shuffle, try to hit the right flame again, it will use a laser attack to one member and Flare to everyone. Don't hesitate to heal if you must. Just keep up getting in lucky hits and you'll beat it. If you have Red Mail or Red Vest, you won't need healing, but the person who has Ruby Armor, will.
 

   Rust Tyrano   Hp : 25 000

He's not actually tough, but takes a long time to beat. Use your best Techs on it.  Like the Black Tyrano, it uses the countdown to a flame attack, Red Mail, Red Vest are highly reccomended here. If it eats a person, heal him/her right away.
 

    Yakra XIII    Hp : 18 000

Try to get equipment that protects against Chaos status, it'll help alot. Use the best attacks you've got, just be careful when he uses NeddleSpin13, which is very powerful. Keep your up at all times, befores he dies, he'll use NeedleSpin13 on everyone.
 

  Atrops XR  Hp : 6000

This is a one on one between Robo and Atropos. Use Uzzi Punch, or Robo Tackle if you don't have Uzzi Punch, use an elixir to restore his hp/mp when it gets low.
 

Mother  Brain   ( Picture not available )   Hp : 5000

Attack the Displays, then hurry up to finnish off Mother Brain before she tightens her defense.  DarkMatter, Uzzi Punch, Triple Kick and other strong techs all work well. If you do this real quick, you won't have to heal.
 

   Mega Mutant   Hp :  Top 4500, bottom 3800

If you've got armor or helmets that protect against Chaos, this will be easy.  Use you best techs, attack the bottom first, then the top. Heal if you need to.
 

Giga Mutant  ( Picture not available )  Hp : Top 5900, bottom 5000

This one is a bit tougher, and only magics hurt it. DarkMatter, Flare, Luminaire are the best magics to use. After each attack you do, he'll sap a little bit of your mp.  Heal immediately if it does the hp to 1 attack. Make sure you are protected from most status ailments.
 

    Terra Mutant   Hp : Top 8000 , bottom N/A

Attack it just like the others, just don't concern yourself with the bottom, attack the top only, once the top dies, wait a few seconds, poof, the bottom goes down to. Heal if you need to.
 

  Lavos Spawn   Hp : 10 000

Attack him like the others you fought on Death Peak, just look out since he tends to use a few magics. Heal if needed. Make sure you don't attack the shell or this will be a short and not very sweet battle.
 

   Queen Zeal   Hp : 12 000

I reccomend having Crono, Marle and Ayla here, have them use the Final Kick Triple Tech, it's very effective. If she uses Halliation, use lapis to heal, save your MegaElixir for later. Keep using Final Kick until she kicks the bucket.
 

   Mammon Machine   Hp : 18 000

Use that Mega Elixir you've won from Queen Zeal, then use Final Kick. The attacks aren't very powerful, but heal if you do get weak.
 

  Queen Zeal   Hp : 20 000

This is the last boss you'll face before Lavos, she is very tough. Use Final Kick on the Head only and use a Mega Elixir after it uses Halliation.
