• FF6 Anniversary Special
01.01.2005 Update by The 984

Hope y'all enjoyed our tribute to ten years of Final Fantasy 6. Special thanks to Sephiroth Katana for coming up with the idea, and thanks also to the Staffers that contributed their essays. If you want to access the feature, you can still find it here.

• These aren't the droids you're looking for
01.02.2005 Update by Kero Hazel

We at the RPGC soundtrack reviews team did not miss our deadline for the Millennial Fair. We reviewed the soundtrack for Silent Hill, which is above all else an RPG. Seeing as it is still Halloween, reviewing this creepy soundtrack makes perfect sense. We prediect that reviews for later Silent Hill and other soundtracks will spontaneously appear by themselves in the coming days. Check the reviews section to confirm that no lies or errors have been made in this update. You may go about your business. Move along.

• Mailbag Mayhem
01.03.2005 Update by MegamanX2K

Just to make it official, yes, I, MegamanX2K, am now in charge of the mailbag. The correct topic is to your right, but for the sake of completeness, I'll post it again here:

If two game companies that produce RPGs merged, like Square-Enix, or decided to do a joint venture, like Square and Disney for Kingdom Hearts, what would the resulting games be like, and how would it affect the game market?

I better get a LOT of replies, or, I dunno, I might hurt someone. Like, I might superglue TD and Pierson together. Actually, that would be pretty cool. What the hell, I'll do it anyway - but you'll only get to see it if you participate! So send those letters (and future 'bag ideas) in!!

01.04.2005 Update by RedComet

I've posted at every other place about this I can think of and maybe someone will see this and want to help. Here for info on the Spider-man: Lethal Foes translation project I'm working on. Thats right, a Japan-only Spider-man game. Check it out, especially if you know Japanese!

• KH:CoM and FFX Reviews
01.08.2005 Update by Cidolfas

I've added a rather acerbic review of the recent Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, as well as a catch-up review of Final Fantasy X, in my reviews page. Take a look if you're interested.

• I hope you like FF art
01.08.2005 Update by Walhalla

Of course you do. :D In less than two weeks, I received submissions for FFII, FFVIII and FFX-2, which is great because those are less popular games in the series, according to the Fanart Section. Check everything out here. Thanks and keep the art coming!

EDIT as of January 10: The Fanart Section is temporarily down, but don't worry, it'll be back up soon enough. Yeah, soon.

EDIT as of January 18: Some people have different definitions for "soon". :P The Fanart Section is now partially back up. However, you'll only be able to see the art from July 17 and earlier. Yeah, all 54 pics that have been added since that date are gone. They will be reuploaded some time between now and February 1, hopefully. :P And I won't post it here when it'll be done because nobody will be reading it. :P

• No Mailbag for You
01.09.2005 Update by MegamanX2K

Zero. That's how many people submitted a mailbag entry to me. Zero. Not "Zero people that bothered to look at the topic before writing off some barely-related rant" or "Zero people that bothered to use decent grammar" or even "Zero non-staffers". Zero. Actually, not even Zero sent in an entry, so perhaps I should say "none"...yeah. None. Nada. Zilch.

So I obviously can't do a mailbag. And no, I'm not going to put on some Broadway production like Charl did. I'm still mourning over the loss of Jerry Orbach. I can only hope a chance re-evaluation of the circumstances surrounding his death reveal he didn't actually die from cancer, leading to a dramatic two-hour Law and Order special titled "We both Reached for the Gun" in which the NYPD struggles to discover which of Brisco's partner actors dun it, and an epic legal drama ensues that would befit a man of his stature. But I'm getting off topic...If I actually get some entries this time around I'll try and put the 'bag up before the 17th, when I return to college. If not, maybe I will have to scrounge something makeshift up.

P.S. For those of you who need encouragement: The Pierson/TD glue fiasco 2005 is still on the table.

As is the MegamanX2K\StarStorm donkey shenanigan. -_-

StarStorm - Silence, Brit, before I smite you with great smiting.

Not Smrt enough to know HTML, apparently. Fuckup. Now quit footnoting my posts. I mean it.

• Technical difficulties
01.11.2005 Update by Merlin

Hi, we apologize if you've tried to access our RPG database or our RPG search feature over the last day or so. We're experiencing some technical problems that are currently breaking that section. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. My recommendation is that you navigate via the Shrine System links to get to the games you may be looking for. Thanks!

StarStorm - Got the fanfic section too, so it's a little delayed.

• Technical update
01.13.2005 Update by Merlin

Hi, as you may have noticed by now, we've repaired our database functionality. A couple areas of the site, most likely the fan art section but also a couple other sections, may be currently offline right now. We're currently working on them and everything should be back to normal within a day or so. Thank you for your patience in this!

• None of those damn Noisy Hills, no siree!
01.16.2005 Update by Kero Hazel

More Silent Hill goodness. We're not updating every time we put a new one up, since it was supposed to be done all in one lump anyway. Plus you should be checking the soundtrack reviews section on a daily basis anyway, like good little fanboys and girls.

Silent Hill 3 now, still more on their way!

• Mailbag: The Gathering
01.17.2005 Update by MegamanX2K

That's right. The mailbag is done and up for your perusal. Wacky times for all. Next week's topic is also to your right. As you can see, I decided to revisit the concept of the RPGC Battle Royale, so get those good guys a'fightin'! And NO Gogos. He won the semi-finals when Macc did it, so he's disqualified.

Well, shit.

• Terranigma Shrine updated and liberated
01.23.2005 Update by Wertigon

Hey all! I've updated the Terranigma Shrine, new stuff includes a brand new picture walkthrough, standards compliance and a new type of Table of Contents. I've also removed some typos and spelling mistakes and stuff. And it's now under a Creative Commons License. Check it out! And with this, I bid ye farewell. It's time for me to move on with life, and hence, I'm resigning from RPGC. Thanks for the five years I've been here, and keep up the good work! =)

This is MegamanX2K, here to inform all you folks that Wert's given control of the shrine to me. I dunno what all this Creative Commons stuff is about, but I obsess over Terranigma more than anybody out there, so if you got a question, I'm probably your man. Good luck Wert.

• Don't forget kiddies
01.24.2005 Update by MegamanX2K

Next week is the first episode of the second season of RPGC Battle Royale! Assuming I get enough entries that is. So far I'm up to a grand total of two. Better than last time, but I could still use a LOT more. Remember, your input determines who lives and dies! If you need inspiration, check out the first season, under Macc's Mailbag archives. If you need threatening and/or blackmail, I totally videotaped your mom last night or something.

01.24.2005 Update by StarStorm

Alright, the fanfic section is fixed, albeit temporarily. I don't know if the issues have been dealt with, so the update will be held off until they're fixed. Much props to Cidolfas for designing that little script.

Although right now it's not working. Oh well.

• Major Dragon Warrior VII shrine update
01.26.2005 Update by Hellhawk

I've become a co-maintainer Dragon Warrior VII shrine, and have just added a big update, so now all of the pages have information. I'll have another update for the shrine pretty soon.

you can check it out here Dragon Warrior 7
