Contacts

In addition to the Johnsons, Contacts are the other important people to know for personal gain. Contacts may only be contacted via a vidphone- and except for Sharkey the Rigger, you'll never meet in person (Sharkey operates a helicopter taxi service that you may find handy). Each contact offers one or more of four things: information, items not available elsewhere, services useful for making Runs, and/or discounts at various shops. It's good to know people.

Wilma Temmenhoff
Not the best Contact in the game, but good for a beginner, especially a Decker or someone employing a Decker. She offers information on the Matrix-always a useful thing. Also, she sells pirated software, two useful programs: Rebound, and Degrade (5,000 each). Both are extremely useful-though she only sells the level 3 versions of each. You can buy this contact from Gunderson.

Alesandro Hobb
This guy offers another contact, Sgt. Macklemann (8,000), which is always good. And he offers level 3 and 5 Maglock Passkeys (10,000 and 20,000 respectivly)-very usefull things! Mortimer Reed sells you this contact.

Captain Quinton James
Offers a Rigger contact, Sharkey (2,800). Also a good source of "safe" Frag grenades (400), and stripped HK-227S SMGs (1,000). Julius Strouther sells you this contact.

Max
This guy is a Rigger, an archetype of Shadowrunner that, like Mages, aren't playable in this game. A Rigger is the guy who sets things up for the team. Max can get you Corps badges (6,000) to help fool Corps security, offers the two best SMGs in the game, HK227 (1,500) and AK-97 (2,000), and offers level 4 and 5 Maglock Passkeys (30,000 and 42,000 respectively)-and that last is invaluable for a Runner who bases his career around Acquisitions and Extractions. A very useful contact- one of the best, in fact. You can get this contact from Vigore and Jarl.

Sharkey
Your only source of Smart Goggles (3,000), which will allow even a Shaman to use a Smartgun system. Also flies her helicopter to remote areas of the wilderness, she can take you to the Salish-Sidhe entrance (3,000) or the Sinsearch (5,000)-useful, if you don't feel like exploring the deepest heart of the Salish-Sidhe, or are wanted by the law- and hence, unable to aquire a passport. Captain Quinton James sells you this contact.

Professor Jefferson
Offers two things, aside from info: a discount at Rianna's spellshop (1,500), and a contact: Gregory Wilns (2,000). Useful things, for a spellcaster. The shadowrunner, Trent, offers this contact for free.

Sgt. Macklemann
This prison guard can give you information on corporate security and how to avoid it, plus access to Hollywood correctional facility (5,000). Alesandro Hobb sells you this contact.

Kipp David
Offers info on corporate matrix'. Sells level 6 versions of rebound and degrade (30,000 each), also gives you a pretty good deal on an Excalibur cyberdeck (185,000). A must have for any decker. Caleb Brightmore sells you this contact.

Sgt. Chillicut
Offers to delete your criminal record (5,000), gives you access to Hollywood correctional facility (3,000) and can also sell you a weapon permit (10,000). The same services as Henry Culver, only at higher rates. Caleb Brightmore sells you this contact.

Gregory Wilns
This corporate mage offers two things, aside from info: a discount at Merlin's Lore (4,000), and a level 2 spell focus (50,000), which increases the power for ALL your spells. You can buy this contact from Professor Jefferson.

Henry J. Culver
A city official who works in the Mayor's office, offers to delete your criminal record (2,500), gives you access to Hollywood correctional facility (1,500) and can also sell you a weapon permit (8,000). The leader of the Orks sells you this contact.

Mr. Faradouchi
A Mafia Don, you'll get his name from the leader of the Eye-Fivers gang, once you have enough of a rep-and 10,000. He offers free stay at Wylie's Gala Inn, a discount at the Crime Mall and protection from the Lone Star enforcers. Note that if you ally with the Mafia the Yakuza will become your enemies, and you won't be able to get the best armour in the game. If you want to be with these guys do so after getting all the armor you need from the Yakuza. (thanks to Patrick Desrosiers for pointing this out).

Agira Tetsumi
The head of the Yakuza, you'll get his name from the leader of the Halloweeners gang, once you have enough of a rep-and 10,000. He sells the best body armor in the game (30,000), and a level 3 power focus (80,000)! And he offers a discount at Little Chibas, for anyone needing Cyberware. Thing is, you'll need a reputation of at least 5 to get him to talk to you. For all these reasons, he's the best contact in the game.
