Monsters

What site about a game is complete without a monster list?

Zombies:

Zombies were once humans, now they roam the halls of the mansion in hopes of finding a victim to devour. The T-Virus creates these shambling monsters upon infection or injection. The zombies are slow and are the most easily killed of the standard monsters although they do pack a punch if you let them attack. While the T-Virus enhanced the strength and endurance of the infected person it slowed their movement and dulled their intelligence to sub-human levels. The symptoms of T-Virus infection includes an increased hunger, an inability to think clearly, wounds to the flesh which quickly lead to the rotting of the body. Once infected the person will usually become fully undead within three to four days if they are at full health.

Crimons Heads:

The scientific name for these beats is "V-Act". Upon 'death' a zombie goes into a dormant state. As this dormant state takes hold the zombie will quickly begin to mutate into the Crimson Head. The Crimson Head could be the greatest creation of the T-Virus if it wasn't for the fact that the beast retains the weaknesses of the form it previous held. Although the Crimson Heads have a higher resistance to conventional weapons they are easily stopped by fire and decapitation. Burn the corpse or destroy the head and this mutation will be impossible. The power of the Crimson Head is the complete opposite of the standard zombie as it is both fast and powerful. Capable of decapitating a human in a single blow, the Crimson Head is indeed a powerful creature. The mutation process from standard zombie to Crimson Head can take as little as twenty minutes to as long as an hour.

Zombees:

The Zombees are based upon bees. They usually attack in groups and can be dangerous if you actually try to kill them. For the most part these 'monsters' are a waste of time, just run from them. Don't waste the ammo.

Ravens:

These large birds are often called crows in the RE community, but I call them ravens even though I may be wrong. Akin to the Zombees these birds are a waste of time. Just run from then, don't waste the ammo.

Hunters:

I'm not sure what Hunters are. Some say they're zombies left to mutate, the game implies they're a member of the ape family but I don't believe either. I'd guess that these beasts are a human-lizard hybrid as thats the only thing that really makes sense. These beasts are hard skinned and fast on attacking. They are the most dangerous of the standard monsters and they are exceptionally hard to kill with a Handgun. A few Shotgun shells will put them to rest but if you're at less than perfect health they can easily take your head clear off your shoulders. They're obviously carnivorous and as a certain file in the game implies they like to play with their food...if you can call what they do it playing.

Tarantulas:

These large, poisonous spiders are a rarity in the mansion. They infest the Residence out back of the mansion and the basements of the mansion. They spit a poisonous substance from their mouths and also from their body upon death. A few shots from the Handgun will take these weak creatures out, just becareful of their poison...man those things are big. I'm just glad they left the moths out of the remake.

Cerberus:

I hate Cerberus. They're seemingly dobermans infected with the T-Virus, and since dobermans were quite tough before infection these dogs are quite strong after infection. Unlike the human mutations, man's best friend has no weaknesses. They're fast and have power slightly higher than a zombies and they can also keep you from attacking. While one Cerberus isn't a danger they're exceptionally dangerous in groups. Shotguns are the best bet but the Cerberus also takes Handgun bullets very well.

Chimera:

These little freaks seem to be mutated from either roaches or some other small, wingless insect. They're very similar to Hunters in power and speed, but they can climb walls and attack from above and have higher resistance. Luckily they're unable to decapitate you, but to counter this they often come in groups. These buggers will only be encountered in the final dungeon, Acid Rounds or Shotgun shells work wonders, although I wouldn't suggest wasting the Acid.
