Puzzles

Man, I'm such a nice guy. Instead of making you sods scroll through the entire walkthrough just to find the location of the solution to a certain puzzle I made a page on them.

Shotgun Puzzle

The Shotgun puzzle is rather simple. When you first encounter the Shotgun on a rack in a room in the eastern side of the mansion you are unable to take it. Sure, you can take it off the wall but doing so will kill you since the previous room is a trap that you can only escape by returning to the Shotgun room and replacing the gun onto the rack. To get around this you'll have to come back after you've gotten around to unlocking the second door in the Upper Dining Hall. In this hall head down stairs and then to the end of a hall until you reach a set of locked doors. Open the one along the wall with the Sword Key and then grab the Broken Shotgun from inside. Return to the Shotgun Room and put this on the rack after taking the Shotgun. I've heard that Barry is apparrently supposed to save you before the room kills you when playing as Jill but I've never seen this.

Inner Garden Weed Puzzle

This is a rather simple puzzle to get a Death Mask. When you reach the Inner Garden off of the Shadowy Hall you'll be unable to reach the Death Mask at the end of the room. So, head to the first door in the hall outside the Shotgun Room puzzle is locked. With Jill you just have to pick the lock and with Chris you can pick up an Old Key in the nearby decrepit washroom after tangling with a zombie. Behind the door is a garden path with a sack of Chemicals at the end which turn out to be Herbicide. Now, take this item back to the Innder Garden and use it on the small machine near the door. Use the red option to avoid killing the herbs and you'll be able to grab the Death Mask.

Knight Room

WHen you enter this room four knights statues will shift away from the wall. You have to push them until they're all against the wall again, but when you push one another may pop out. The most important thing to remember is DO NOT EXAMINE THE CONSOLE IN THE MIDDLE BEFORE COMPLETING THE PUZZLE. IT WILL KILL YOU. And if you're anything like me you've neglected to save for a while. To solve it push the upper left one, bottom right, upper right, upper left, bottom left, upper right, bottom right, bottom left, bottom right. After this is finished check the console to open a hole in the wall. Examine it for a Jewelry Box with the Death Mask in it.

Piano Room Passage

Once you've got your grubby little mits on both Musical Scores and have combined them (One is up in the attic in a compartment behind a dresser and the other is in the Piano Room behind a shelf) use them on the Piano. If you're playing as Jill you'll play the piece automatically since not only is Jill a skilled lock picker, weapons expert and chemist but she's also a concert pianist. If you're playing as Chris you'll muff up and Rebecca will wander into the room. She'll need to practice, so go off and either burn some corpses or move on to the next Death Mask puzzle. Anywho, before you venture into the passage that is revealed by the song being played on the piano head to the Dining Hall and grab the Emblem from above the fireplace. Now, head into the passage and grab the Golden Emblem, replace it with the Emblem and then head to the Dining Hall. Place the Golden Emblem where you got the normal Emblem and the nearby grandfather clock will open up. Set it to 6:00 to get the Shield Key.

Stained Glass Room

You'll find this puzzle in the room just off the Emblem Hall unlocked with the Armor Key. Ok, to solve the puzzle in here you have to first take note of your surroundings. The room is shaped like a U with two halls and a wall down the middle. First you must note the three stained glass windows on the center wall. There are switches on either side. For the first one flip the switch on the side of the room closest to the door. For the second and third flip the two back switches. For reference the windows should be red, purple and green. After that’s done head to the stained glass window at the end of the room and flip the switch. A door will open and reveal not only the final Death Mask.

Specimen Room Puzzle

This puzzle is fairly annoying, mainly because it unleashes a zombee upon you. At the far end of the room is a set of fishing hooks on the wall. Grab one and then grab the Lure of a Bee and the Bee Specimen off the racks near the door. Combine the Fishing Hook with the Lure of a Bee and then place them where you got the Bee Specimen. Now place the Bee Specimen where you got the Lure of a Bee and flip the switch. The Wind Emblem will be revealed.

Aqua Ring Control Room

Ok, this puzzle sucks ass. Copious amounts of it. Anywho, head down the ladder and into the control room. Check the papers on the table to learn a valve number. The valves in question are next to the door way into the main control room. Ok, now, do EXACTLY as stated here. On the center console turn the drain system on. Something’ll go wrong and the goddamned shark will smash the window. This is where the bad shit starts to happen. You’ve got a limited time to fix the problem. Ok, head to the right console and examine it, deactivate the safeties then head to the opposite console and flip the switch to lower the shutters. It won’t work, so head to the valves and open the one that the papers told you to. Now, reactivate the safeties and then try the shutters again. Now drain the water and we’re good to go. Head past the ladder and through the door.

Trophy Room Puzzle

This room sucks horrendously large amounts of ass. It's a simple puzzle it's just annoying as crap. In this room are two stuffed animal trophies on the wall and a moving stone eagle. Near the trophies are desks to be pushed against the wall beneath the trophies. Turn off the lights to reveal shineys in the eyes of the trophies. Now, when the eagle is looking at you, you can't grab the shineys. So jump up onto one of the desks then wait for the eagle to lock on to you. Hop down, run along the wall and the eagle will get stuck for a moment use this as your opportunity to grab the shiney on the opposite side of where you hopped down from. Rinse and repeat to get them both.

Jewelry Box PUzzle

I fucking hate this puzzle ith the blazing passion of 1,000 suns. Basically it's a jewelry box that you place the Red Gem into to reveal a puzzle. The puzzle is like a jigsaw puzzle and is extremely difficult to explain online. Basically there are pieces of it that you have to get to fit into the round part on the top of the box and make them form a picture. The secret to solving I think is the largest piece goes on the bottom of the puzzle and the diamond shaped piece goes in the middle. While thats not a huge help, it's all you'll get unless someone wants to contact me with a better solution.

Spinner Room Puzzle

This is another crappy puzzle I hate. Basically take a look at the wall across from the room to notice a statue and a dark patch. Push the statue in front of the dark patch then use the crank on the crank hole near the door. That'll push the statue out so you can push it onto the spinner in the middle of the room twice. Now push it into the slot to get your prize.
