Behemoth's Paper Mario Review

Email the author: Behemoth

First and foremost, I have to clear up something, the only thing stupid about this game is the graphics, everything else about this game is great. Don't let the graphics fool you, this game is actually one of the best games on the Nintendo 64 and is the best rpg.

Mario's back but in uhh...Paper form, considering the game is being told from a book it kind of makes sense. Bowser is at it again but this time he has stolen the star rod, a rod that is capable for granting wishes, this time he has Kammy koopa on his side (the same guy from Yoshi's island). Mario and his friends (they do leave Luigi out of this game though, don't worry buddy you'll get your break soon!). The only weak point this game has are the graphics, which aren't even that bad just weird. The storyline is typical Mario, having to rescue Peach from Bowser's grasp and in this game the star rod along with the princess. The battling is very straightforward and easy to learn, but is the same old menu battling except for a few combo type things. This game is fairly short though, the first time through I beat it in 23 hours and that's getting most of the extra things.

This game is a must buy if you own a Nintendo 64 seeing it is the best RPG for the system (although Ogre Battle is very good also). This game would be more suitable for the younger audiences but isn't that easy of a game.
