Mission 8: To Chain the Beast

Conditions for winning

Conditions for losing

As soon as the mission starts, pull some Marines out of the Bunkers in a base to your east, and the Marines will inform that the Sunken Colonies placed around the map are invincible. Start off mining like crazy, building defense, especially against Torrasque, the Ultralisk hero that keeps getting reincarnated and attacks every little while.

Almost consecutive Bunkers guarding your base's northern flank filled with 3 Marines and 1 Firebat with a SCV behind each should hold him off easily. Siege Tanks help even more. Start getting a large force of 12 Battlecruisers and 2 Science Vessels, and expand east if you need to. From your base head north and Yamato Spore Colonies in the base.

Move slowly along the border, and retreat once to repair if needed. Once you've taken out most of their defense, kill the Cerebrate. Now all previously invincible Sunken Colonies will become vulnerable. Move your Battlecruisers to the east with some Tanks support and kill the second Cerebrate, which should be fairly easy with your large Battlecruiser strike force, because that particular Cerebrate concertrates mostly on ground attacks.

Now all that's left to do is move your Battlecruisers further north and kill off the remaining Cerebrate that is surrounded by Infested Command Centers, with Siege Tanks if you wish. Now you can clear a path to the Overmind and bring in a Dropship with 4 Medics to win the mission.
