| Welcome to the Olympus Coliseum, and the trial of heros. First off there are two Blue Trinity Marks in the lobby area, one in front of each of the entrance way statues; use the marks to gain, on the left side a Mythril Shard and on the right side the Dalmations 22, 23 & 24. There is also a partially hidden treasure chest behind the pillar near where the Mythril Shard was, open it to get a Mega-Potion. Go inside and talk to Phil, he will ask you to move the stone on the right side of the room, go ahead and try, but you can't right now. Speak to Phil again after trying to move the stone, he will let Sora take the trial of the coliseum. Use the Save Point and speak to Phil when you are ready to begin the trial. |
| The Trials |
| The "Easy" trial consists of breaking 20 barrels in 30 seconds. When the trial begins lock onto the center barrel of the first group and attack so that you get all the barrels in the group at once. Also if you are lucky you can get the barrel to fly off behind and hit others with your final attack. Hop up onto the middle platform and attack the lone barrel there until it flies into the four lined on the back edge. Then hop up onto either of the high platforms on the sides and attack the lone barrels there to get them to fly across and break the single barrel on the opposite side. NOTE if you miss the barrel on the opposite side quickly use a Fire spell to take it out. |
| Now that the "Easy" trial is done, you get to try your luck at the "Advanced" trial. In here you much destroy 25 barrels in one minute. Now you may think, less barrels and more time, but if you look at the layout of the barrels, it will require alot more thought into your attacks. Start this trial by attacking the four barrels to Sora's immediate left. Then lock onto the lone barrel on the lowest level and hit it back into the two stacked barrels further back. Now jump up to the first platform and attack the three barrels there from the center so that Sora attacks them in horizontal line. On the next platform up have Sora smash the lone barrel into the four further back. Now hop up to the next platform and break the six barrel group as best you can, then hit the nest barrel up so that it breaks the lone barrel on the high platform (if you miss quickly lock onto the high barrel and use fire). The last two barrels are hidden on the backside of the platform, drop down and hit one into the other to win. |
| For winning the trials Phil will award Sora with the Thunder Spell, but other than the ability to do the trials again (dont bother you get nothing for them) he refuses to allow Sora and comp. into the tournament. As a side note with the trials you may wish to unequip the Vortex ability if you have it on Sora, it sometimes makes it harder to beat the trials.

| The Tournament |
| Since Phil won't let you enter the tournament, you may as well leave right, exit into the lobby area after saving your game. Everybody's favorite god of the underworld appears and gives Sora a ticket into the tournament. Without even bothering to think quickly hurry back in, save and show Phil the ticket, now he must let you into the tournament. Save if you haven't already and make sure that all the characters have items equipped to heal, both HP and MP. During the tournaments at the coliseum the enemies drop nothing, and that includes HP and MP Balls, so make sure you are prepared. The preliminary tournament is six rounds of combat with six different groups of enemies, with no break in between to heal. After beating all six rounds you fight the Boss Cloud, who is starting to look a bit more like Vincent but thats just my FFVII thinking anyway, here is a listing of the enemies you have to fight and the order in which they come. |

Cloud |
| Cloud [HP)300] [EXP)80] |
| NOTE: Cloud yells before each of his attacks, so use this to your advantage and know when he is about to attack. Two of Clouds more common attacks are the Sword slice(swings the Buster sword) and the Sonic Blade attack(dashes across the ring). With either of these attacks, you can choose to either jump out of the way of them, or use Dodge Roll and try to counterattack (this counterattack doesn't always work, so be careful). Also if Clouds leaps high into the air move away from him, when he hits the ground the attack is devistating. Try using Fire Spells to attack Cloud, they do nice damage and knock him back a bit, ushering the ability to know his next move (normally his Sonic Blade). If your HP drop to low try and run away from the fight and use a Potion or Mega-Potion then jump back in. It should be noted that, even if Sora loses all HP in this fight with Cloud the story continues. It is not essential that you defeat Cloud but the 80 EXP is kinda nice to get. Either way when the battle is over, prepare for the next boss fight.
| After the fight with Cloud, regardless if you won or lost Hercules is now in need of assistance back in the Coliseum. YOu can choose to help him now or go and gain some levels first, its up to you, but you will need to defeat this next boss sometime. Anyway, use the save point and heal your characters re-equip any empty item slots with new items, in this next fight your gonna need them. |
| Cerberus [HP)600] [EXP)200] |
| Cerberus has three heads that you can target, use this to your advantage and target an outside head either on the left or right side and stay to the side of Cerberus. By staying on the side of Cerberus you can manage to avoid his biting attack and his fireball attack. Even if you dodge these attacks by being on Cerberus' side you can still be hit by two of his other attacks. One of which is denoted by him leaning forward towards the ground, when he does this dark magic comes out of the ground. This attack tracks Sora and shoots out from under him. When you see Cerberus lean and the pools of dark energy on the ground stop and run from them to try and avoid the attack. Cerberus' other major attack is one in which he rears up on his hind legs and slams back down onto the ground causing a massive earthquake Now if you remember back to your Final Fantasy tactics and remember that earthquakes dont hurt things in the air, when you see Cerberus rear up jump and combo if you can to stay airborne, if Cerberus hits the ground while you are airborne you don't get hit. Just be patient and keep attacking Cerberus' head, he will die eventually. Once Cerberus is defeated you recieve an Inferno Band |
| Alright, you defeated a huge three headed dog, very well done. Phil thinks so too, and because of this he awards you a Hero's License, which allows the party to compete in all the Coliseum tournaments. There won't be another thournament for a little while, but just keep this in mind. Save at the save point and exit to the lobby. On your way out, Cloud will stop Sora and give him the Sonic Blade Skill, he will do this regardless if you won or lost to him in the competition. Now that you have a nice new ability to play with, jump onto the Gummi Ship and head for the Deep Jungle. |
